Public relations
Public relations are an important part of my work as a curator at the Bayerische Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und Geologie. Apart from almost daily dealings with the media, this also includes work on exhibitions, guided tours in the Museum and help and advice for amateur palaeontologists.
Listed below are some of my more important public relation activities.
2009: Scientific advisor of the special Archaeopteryx exhibition at the Mineralientage München.
2009: Participation in the conceptualization and realisation of the special exhibition „Tracing evolution“ at the Bayerische Staatssammlung.
2007: Conceptualization and realisation of the special exhibition „Flying High: Fascinating Pterosaurs“ at the Bayerische Staatssammlung (in collaboration with Dave Hone and the technical staff of the Staatssammlung).
2007: Participation in the conceptualization and realization of the new permanent exhibition „From stromatolithes to shrews: 4 billion years of life on earth“ at the Bayerische Staatssammlung.
2005: Participation in the conceptualization and realization of the special exhibition „From glaciers to the beach: a geoscientific journey through the alps“ at the Bayerische Staatssammlung.
2005: Participation in the BBC documentary „KIller dinosaurs“.
2004-2007: Advisor for the renewal of the dinosaur hall of the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin.
2002: Participation in the BBC documentary „the rise of titans“, which was based on my work in the Jurassic of Chubut.
