Welcome to the webpage of the Mesozoic vertebrate research group at the Bayerische Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und Geologie in Munich, Germany!
The Mesozoic ("Age of Dinosaurs", from c. 250 to 65 million years ago) is a crucial time for our understanding of the evolutionary history of vertebrate life on our planet. Most of the modern groups of vertebrates originated during this time period, and the changing world of the Mesozoic shaped their evolutionary pathways towards our modern vertebrate biodiversity. Thus, understanding the Mesozoic world will help us to understand the origin of vertebrate life as we see it today.
This webpage is dedicated to the research on Mesozoic vertebrates!
